Insightful summary, David. Your final comment about truthful information being the weapon of choice to counter all the "I"'s got me wondering, how will we know what's true? Perhaps this I'd the penultimate utility of NFT's. When original information is published, perhaps it can be captured in blockchain format to verify authenticity.

Well, one has to have some modicum of reason and discernment to begin with. Then one has to look for a history of integrity & veracity in any news publication. Then one has to compare that factual reporting, which most newspapers do expertly on their news pages, between differing organizations with different known biases on their op-ed pages. There is a difference. Sadly, too many people confuse a publication's 'editorial slant' of their publisher to the 'factual reporting' of their journalists.

By the way, I am exploring a new site called "Ground News" which attempts to show news stories that are 'thought' to lean left, center and right, giving the readers the ability to compare and contrast. I think you'd like it. You can read stories either on their online website or their phone app.
